These organizations have discovered that consumers are willing to invest more in high-performance properties.     **Features to include in your high-performance construction include:** - Improved insulation  - Moisture management - Energy-efficient correctly sized heating and cooling systems - Whole-house ventilation - Low volatile organic compound (VOC) paints and wood  - LED or other energy-efficient lighting - Energy-efficient appliances - Smart thermostats While these features are found in green homes, overall home performance isn't just a list of green features.  High-performance homes bring in the operational aspects of a house that can be measured - like those found in a HERS rating. **Benefits of a HERS: **  When you have your home construction projects rated, you can provide documented information to your customer.  You might say a miles-per-gallon rating for their home.  HERS ratings are affordable, reliable, and make it easy to understand a home's energy performance.  Plus, they are third-party verified and not BISS (because I said so) information. A HERS rating provides the homeowner with a tangible feature they can use in the resale of their home and possibly increase the resale value of their investment. **How SIPs fit in high-performance construction picture:** Better insulation Leads to a more comfortable, more affordable living space. The air-tight construction of SIPs provides more in-home comfort by mitigating drafts, mold, allergens, and pests.  The superior insulating qualities of SIP construction will save the homeowner money over the lifetime of the home.  With SIPs, your builds will be tighter, stronger, and straighter.  Plus, you will be able to build more homes with less labor. **Consumers are getting smarter.** According to the U.S. Department of Energy, studies show that home buyers value energy efficiency.  And that homes designated as energy-efficient sold 18 to 89 days faster. **Learn more** [![More About SIPs](https://no-cache.hubspot.com/cta/default/3823653/65e9343a-3483-4c1a-9fa3-6b77b2251ffa.png)](https://cta-redirect.hubspot.com/cta/redirect/3823653/65e9343a-3483-4c1a-9fa3-6b77b2251ffa)   Topics: [Home Energy Score](https://3823653.hs-sites.com/blog/tag/home-energy-score), [building envelope](https://3823653.hs-sites.com/blog/tag/building-envelope), [Green Homes](https://3823653.hs-sites.com/blog/tag/green-homes) [![logosmallwebsite](https://3823653.hs-sites.com/hs-fs/hubfs/logosmallwebsite.png?width=113&name=logosmallwebsite.png "logosmallwebsite")](https://www.enercept.com/) ### CONTACT US: 3100 9th Ave SE Watertown, SD 57201 Phone: ([605) 882-2222](https://3823653.hs-sites.com/blog/home-builders-benefit-from-marketing-energy-efficiency-data#) Fax: ([605) 882-2753](https://3823653.hs-sites.com/blog/home-builders-benefit-from-marketing-energy-efficiency-data#) E-mail: [info@enercept.com](https://3823653.hs-sites.com/blog/home-builders-benefit-from-marketing-energy-efficiency-data#) ### ABOUT ### Products ### Applications ### Resources ### Find Enercept ### Projects [Terms & Conditions](http://www.enercept.com/terms-conditions) [Privacy Policy](http://www.enercept.com/privacy-policy) [Site Map](https://www.enercept.com/sitemap) © Copyright 2018 Enercept, Inc.
